My name is Mrs. Petrauskas. I am so excited to meet you all! This year is sure to be a fantastic one and I can not wait to get started on all of the learning and fun!
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.
I was born in Ohio, but have moved around my entire life. I graduated high school in Orlando, so that caused me to choose a Florida school. I am a graduate of the University of Florida. Go Gators! I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Literature and Exceptional Student Education. I am one of the biggest Gator fans around! I love going to football games and proudly wearing my orange and blue!
I have been teaching for six years. I have just moved to St. John's County from Duval County where I worked at Bartram Springs Elementary. I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to now be at CCE as a Cardinal!
My husband's name is Mike and we have been married for eight years. We have two dogs- a pug, Sadie, and a Pekingese, Sophie. We live in St. Augustine and love going to the beach, being outdoors, and traveling the world!
I love to travel and learn about different cultures! This summer we went on a safari in Africa, continued on to Dubai, explored Turkey, relaxed in Croatia, and then rounded out the trip in England. It was an awesome vacation! I have been to all of the continents except Antarctica and South America. It my goal to visit every continent and all of the 50 states. I am super close and I can't wait to do more traveling!

My other hobbies include arts and crafts, reading (especially Jane Austen), event planning, Zumba, and musicals!
Want to know some more about me? I love all kinds of Mexican food, pumpkin flavored anything (especially pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks!) and Skittles. My favorite colors (besides orange and blue) are pink and green. I love hydrangeas and peonies. My favorite animals are gators, penguins, and turtles. Aquariums are the first thing I visit in new cities. I love shopping at the Loft and J Crew. My favorite movies are "The Sound of Music" and "Pride and Prejudice" and I love all songs from musicals! (I am a great singer in the shower and in my car!).
I know some of you are nervous about transitioning into a new classroom with a new teacher. I hope getting to know me a little bit helps with this anxious feeling. I want you to know that teaching is truly my passion. I will always put everything into making sure that my kiddos are the smartest, most respectful and responsible that they can be. I will always go the extra mile to help make our class have a family feeling. When students are comfortable and confident with themselves and the environment they are in, then they can be the most successful. I know that this year will definitely be successful!
